Downtown Haddonfield Vintage Inspired Bridal Shoot
I recently teamed up with several Downtown Haddonfield businesses and Natalie of Scar Events to highlight the many reasons why this destination is the perfect one-stop-shop for an elegant and charming South Jersey wedding. From extraordinarily friendly and attentive small business owners to the backdrop of Historic Downtown Haddonfield, this area offers every service you could ever need for your wedding or special occasion.
Melissa of Jay West Bridal, anchoring the shopping district on Kings Highway, picked out a beautiful lace gown with vintage details paired with satin heels for the shoot. It was so difficult to choose a gown for our model, Alexis, and Melissa gave us a tour of the two-story shop featuring a bridal salon and beautiful dresses and accessories for every style and occasion. Melissa was wonderful to work with and extremely knowledgable about the latest wedding and bridal trends.
Alexis had her hair and makeup done in the garden oasis that is HeadTrip Studio. Diana, the owner, is incredibly down to earth and has perfected the art of glowing, natural hair. Diana's salon emphasizes the importance of styling to reflect inner beauty, and she gave Alexis's curls extra bounce while makeup artist Gigi added beautiful contouring and shimmer. Diana's salon is so relaxing and beautifully decorated, I found myself wanting to sit down for some highlights with a cup of tea and a good book.
Bill of Jewelry & Timepiece Mechanix opened up his shop (on his day off!) so we could pick out the most exquisite pieces to complete our vintage-inspired look for Alexis. Again, it was nearly impossible to choose because Bill's shop is filled with stunning designer, custom, and estate jewelry. While coordinating this shoot, I stopped by Bill's shop for a gold chain I could pair with a vintage spinning locket for my aunt. I was immediately greeted by friendly staff and a cup of coffee. Not only did Bill find the perfect adjustable chain, he also researched the locket I brought in and identified the stones. It was incredible!
The day before the shoot, I dropped by The Paper Trail for custom invitation ideas and vintage inspired decor. Andrea, the owner, immediately pulled some statement pieces and highlighted Philadelphia-themed custom invitations and envelopes. I could spend hours perusing the stationary in Andrea's shop - it is the perfect boutique for when you are in need of some inspiration for your wedding or special occasion.
I would be remiss if I did not emphasize how wonderful it was to work with Natalie and Alexis. Natalie and Scar Events specialize in event planning, and her day-of coordinating service was in full effect during the shoot! Natalie even picked up fresh white lilies that morning to complete the theme. Natalie's eye, attention to detail, and intuitive styling made our vintage inspired vision come to life. Alexis effortlessly embodied the elegance that naturally radiates from a bride on her wedding day, and she even brought her beautiful mother to the shoot, which took place on Mother's Day!
It was truly a pleasure working with these creative professionals and getting to know them. I look forward to collaborating with them in the future and becoming their client and a frequent patron of Downtown Haddonfield. For more information:
